Backyard is a scrappy young startup trying to make local search useful. Their goal is to serve their users with relevant & valuable information about deals in their area for the businesses people actually care about, like bars and restaurants, nail salons, movie theaters, and more.

The Backyard peeps are also our really good friends and we share office space with them. So until they hired a full time designer, May was able to help shape the brand's visual identity from it's infancy. May's owner Garth even traveled to Silicon Valley with Backyard CEO Steve Espinosa and helped pitch the company to a panel of Angel investors. They're now backed by big names in the startup world such as Eric Schmidt of Tomorrow Ventures, Dave McClure, and Jason Calacanis.
